Mystic Aquarium: Perfect Christmas Cabin Fever Cure

Mystic Aquarium: Perfect Christmas Cabin Fever Cure

Christmas and cabin fever seem to go hand in hand especially in New England.  It’s not snowy out, but there have been plenty of viruses going around, and then there’s all the road trips back and forth to visit family and friends.  Some children are returning to school in a few short days, but those days will drag if you don’t have a plan.

We were lucky enough to be invited to check out the Mystic Aquarium, which I usually on think of as a spring or summer destination, to check out the great indoor exhibits as well as to stroll the park-like property which is decorated for Christmas.  Our children are a bit afraid of the movies, but my husband and I (one at time while the other one stayed with the children) really loved the 4D Polar Express movie.  The only thing we missed, which you can still catch until January 1st is diving Santa.

Here were a few of our favorite things…

The kids were so excited to be back at the Aquarium. A quick 2 hour ride early in the morning makes it a perfect day trip from Cambridge. Back home for dinner.

The belugas loved their live local musicians. Lots of good vibrations for all!

No candy canes for the Penguins but they love their fishy treats.

Lots of hands on activities and opportunities to get as up close and personal with some animals as you are comfortable with. Learning about stingers and/or lack thereof here.
