The Breakfast Club is a great little spot just across the river from where I live, nestled in behind The Skating Club of Boston and Harvard Stadium. In addition to a great, huge breakfast menu, there is a perfect little parking lot which this winter is kind of a big deal. Go there for the music, or a stroll down memory lane with 80’s The Breakfast Club parephenalia on the walls. They have good coffee served in those weighty and warm classic diner cups, and if you are a fan of eggs benedict there is an entire section of the menu dedicated to them.
As a kid, I loved breakfast for dinner. It was comforting, often had more sweets than my typical dinner and it was something special. Now, you can enjoy breakfast for dinner out with this fun little series of evening pop-ups at this family owned diner. I was recently invited to try out The Breakfast Club’s first in a series of monthly dinners. It was a Valentine’s themed dinner that was delicious and I had a blast. It’s a great way to enjoy dinner out with friends, a fun prix fixe menu, a casual setting, and an all around good time. On the first Monday of the month, The Breakfast Club, will stay up late and serve you dinner. Each dinner has a seasonal theme.
Monday, March 2, 2015: St. Patrick’s Day
There will be an Irish influence in the kitchen for this dinner St. Patrick’s day clichés and all. On the menu will be a Lucky Charms parfait, Irish creamy Bailey’s French toast, and a nod to classic corned beef & cabbage incorporating it into the diner’s scratch-made corned beef hash. For dessert you’ll raise a pint of “Irish Coffee” milkshake and exclaim, “sláinte!”
Monday, April 6, 2015: Easter
Eggs glorious eggs will be at the center stage here and if anyone knows eggs it’s the chef in the kitchen at a diner. Deviled eggs will get you started on this breakfast for dinner journey. Then you’ll feel like you’re floating on a cloud with a light and tasty egg-white omelette filled with grilled chicken. Every breakfast for dinner has at least two sweet elements and Easter is no fun without an easter bunny so the pancakes for this meal will be carrot cake of course. Then for a nod to that annual Easter Egg hunt dinner will conclude with a Marshmallow Peep milkshake.
Monday, May 4, 2015: Spring
I have a feeling that this year we are going to welcome spring not only with open arms but with a huge celebration. The Breakfast Club will be celebrating with a spring hash, tropical banana/coconut/pineapple hummingbird pancakes, a fresh herb omelette and a garden-inspired vanilla-lavender milkshake.
Tickets must be purchased in advance here. Dinners are from 6-9 p.m. and are a $35/person for a four course prix fixe breakfast for dinner. I recommend getting one of the Narragansett Autocrat Coffee Milk Stout (for an additional few dollars) it just works perfectly with the whole breakfast for dinner theme and pairs nicely.

This is a GREAT place! I had a lot of fun shooting some photos for George a few months bag and I’ve been bringing visiting out of town friends ever since. Killer home fries and a staff of waitresses that was kidnapped from an Annette Funicello movie. Ken
