Gifts for Pets and Their People

The White House is getting new pets and so are many homes lately. The presence of a new pet is something that will bring some much needed calm and comfort this new year. Being home is a silver lining of our current lives and has given people the opportunity to consider adopting a dog or cat to add to their family.

Evie is our furry friend adopted from the Ellen Gifford Shelter. She has done a lot of snuggling this year.

If you want something super comfortable, local-themed and that has good Boston panache, then I have to send you over to Wicked Dog Apparel. The company came to be from a love of Boston, having a good time, and dogs. Wicked Dog Apparel’s shirts and gear embody that. I love how soft their material is and the little details like a splash of buffalo check in the hood of the hoodie. They even have leggings for those quick winter jaunts with the pup. Check out Wicked Dog Apparel for some of my favourites as well as koozies for your water bottle (or post dog walk beer), t-shirts and more.

I’m a little obsessed with buffalo check lately. When we go on walks with Lexi this hoodie will keep me warm and bring a little extra joy thanks to the red and buffalo check details. It’s the little things that make a difference.

Bandanas are a cute dog accessory but some of these from Just Add Dogs are also useful. I’m a little obsessed with the “Give me space” bandana and of course the classic Christmas plaid flannel bandana.

Bone broth is a treat humans have been enjoying to soothe the body and tantalize the taste buds for a while, and now your dog’s day has come. Brutus Broth is a bone broth for your pup. It can be added to their food or lapped up alone. In the summer, you can even serve as an ice pop. For road trips, grab their Brutus on the Go packs and just add water.

These handmade bins from Mud and Yarn are partially for your pet and mostly for you. I love these crocheted nesting baskets for putting toys, knick knacks and pet thing-a-ma-jiggies.

Pets in the Boston area really know how to be stylish and accessorize. I love these flowers and bow ties from Chuckle Hounds. They can be attached to your pets collar.

Cardboard has never looked so swanky. These modern cat houses made by Maple Makery are laser cut out of cardboard (not maple wood). They make a perfectly stylish napping spot for your kitty. https://www.etsy.com/shop/MapleMakery
