Cozy and Stylish for the Holidays: Gift Guide 2020

Cozy and Stylish for the Holidays: Gift Guide 2020

Clothes, Accessories & Wearable Coziness

Cozy is the name of the game this winter.  While staying warm at home has been a thing forever, all weather outdoor gatherings were not necessarily a part of our lifestyle.  This year, we are embracing the great outdoors  not just to refresh our minds and exercise our bodies, but to gather with friends and family in a safe way.

A good hat goes a long a way.  The perfect winter hat is not just stylish it is also one of the best ways to keep warm.  Mix it with a pair of hand knit mittens and winter won’t feel so cold and lonely. New England Knit Co, out of Acton, MA has the cutest collection of hats and mittens for all ages.

If your friends and family are more into the DIY lifestyle, give a class from Gather Here and let them knit themselves a cozy winter life.  Not only will you make something to keep your hands warm and toasty, but you’ll be welcomed into a community of knitters and makers (virtually for now) that is the perfect cure for pandemic loneliness.

Bejewel your Cozy for a Complete Look

I love delicate jewelry and these rosette silver earrings by Artem Jewelry are so pretty.  I’m also a fan of the studs by Porcelain and Stone I got a pair of oyster shell studs for my birthday and I wear them daily.

Every year, I look forward to seeing pieces by Shing Jewels at their holiday open house.  This year everyone’s invited because all the holiday shopping is online.  I love the ellipse jewelry and the ginko leaf too.  There is an intriguing ballot slot necklace as well as many beautiful rings.  I always find at least a gift or two (and pick up something for myself).

The earrings from Island Naturals are beautiful and unique.  I think the shell hoops are my favourite ones. Jannette vanderhoop is the artist behind Island Naturals and is from the Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe on Martha’s Vineyard.

For your history lover, give a little jewelry and a piece of history all wrapped up in one gorgeous little gift from the USS Constitution Museum.  There is the classic anchor or sea star jewelry but also these stylish modern looking simple circles or hexagon shapes too.  The copper for these pieces were removed from the ship during periodic restorations.  That’s pretty freaking cool.

A set of silky robes and soft velvety cushions will make a cozy corner in your room feel luxurious.  These are the kinds of things, from Last Lust that remind you to stop and make time for self care or spend a little extra time focused on one another.

You don’t necessarily want to wear your chunky wool scarf indoors in the winter, but a neck is a delicate thing.  A silk scarf works like magic for keeping you warm and stylish indoors in any setting from Zoom call to tv night on the couch.  I’m definitely adding one of Wild Tannin‘s creations to my mom’s scarf collection (maybe two so I can borrow one.)

Wearable art is often a little too bold for me.  I tend to like a little je ne said quoi but I want it to be almost imperceptible.  Even though J Beatty Digital Visuals’ pieces are extremely bold, there is something about the t-shirt and leggings that has me feeling like these can work for me.  There is something about J Beatty Digital Visuals’ colors and design that draws you in.
