Staying outside Boston when you come to visit our fair city is a genius move for many reasons. While suburban Burlington can be a destination in itself, thanks to great local restaurants, shopping, and entertainment, Boston is a 20 minute drive or an easy bus and T (subway) ride in from the hotel. Archer Hotel Burlington is stylish and hip with high end features in all their rooms, which you would pay a premium for in the city. Only the most luxurious city hotels even have such high end fixtures, linens, and attention to detail. I was an invited guest at Archer Hotel Burlington, and as always, all opinions are my own. I have recommended the hotel many times to friends and family, and it is always top of my list when I want a little staycation getaway. In Room Details

Archer Hotel Burlington’s rooms work well for a couple’s romantic getaway, a girls trip or a family vacation. I love that they have double King rooms which are perfect for young families where kids can share a bed and still have plenty of space. If, like us, your kids are teens and sharing a bed is no longer ideal, the Deluxe King Studio suite with adjoining double King room is a true luxury. Never underestimate the power of a giant, luxurious bed.

As city dwellers a king bed is a total luxury and Archer Hotel Burlington beds are neither too hard nor too soft. The Double King room also had a pristine bathtub with complimentary rubber ducky. There is plenty of wardrobe space to hang your clothes although we all know the teens are living out of their suitcases. The bathrooms are large, as is the room itself. Across from the beds are the wardrobe, a desk and of course a large wall-mounted tv for when you want to unwind at the end of the day or watch cartoons in the morning.

The King Studio Suite was the perfect home away from home. Our room was set up with a record player which totally gave our stay “cool factor” points. Archer Burlington Hotel Studio Suites have a kitchenette furnished with a Nespresso coffee machine, and bar height table with two very comfortable bar chairs. It was perfect for in room dining. The kitchenette space had a sink, a mini fridge and a microwave should we need a midnight snack. The shower is spacious and has shiny clean chrome Gröhe fixtures (in fact the same we installed in our new luxurious bathroom at home). The bathroom is stocked with my favourite Malin and Goetz shampoos, body wash and lotion. I love that the hotel uses large format bottles so that there is much less waste, but they still have individual lotions so you can have a little Malin and Goetz to bring home and keep your skin soft throughout the cold winter days.

Hotel Features & Amenities
In addition to these standards in each room, the hotel does their best to make guests of all ages feel welcome with games and books in the room for children, nightly turndown service includes treats from local bakers, the room is stocked with welcome bottles of water and handmade salted caramels (some of the best I have had), and his and her slippers (with the option to switch it to whichever combination of slippers you’d like). Our room had the Old Mr. Boston De Luxe Official Bartender’s Guide which I enjoyed flipping through to look at cocktail recipes.

The hotel has complimentary covered parking, which is wonderful should you come in during a winter storm or just want to keep the car out of the sun on a hot summer’s day. As for the hotel’s communal spaces, every spot is so well thought out from the sitting areas in the lobby either fireside with friends or solo enjoying a complimentary coffee as you contemplate your day. The dining area has spaces for all sorts of travelers. A solo businesswoman may want to enjoy an evening meal at the bar height countertop, a group of employees traveling together could have a whole section of the restaurant that is offset from the rest for a meeting, and a family can enjoy a nice breakfast together at a table next to the pool table and play a round while waiting for their food.

While the pool is just a small splash pool, it is a relaxing spot to swim or just float in the warm water. My 6’3″ husband was able to swim laps since the pool was empty so he was very happy. What really impressed me was the gym. My daughter and I enjoyed a morning workout before joining my husband at the pool, while my son decided he’d take the bus into Cambridge. The gym is well equipped with free weights, cardio machines and a Peleton bike and is quite a bit larger than most hotel gyms. Like the rest of the hotel, the gym is pristine, with towels for after your workout, headphones in case you forgot yours, and nice big windows allowing plenty of natural light in for your workout or post workout-selfie.
