In Between Days Festival Is Back For Another Round

Last year, was the first In Between Days Festival and it is back again this month with two days of music as well as a vintage and artisan market. In Between Days Festival takes place just south of Boston at the Veterans’ Memorial Stadium in Quincy. This late summer festival features 24 bands playing sets that will not overlap over the two days on two stages. Tickets are available as general admission or VIP for one day or the whole weekend. Tickets start at $105 and can be purchased here. Headliners for In Between Days Festival include: Modest Mouse, Lord Huron, Sunny Day Real Estate, Phantogram, The Beths, and Trampled By Turtles

What’s What

Here are a few things to know before you go to In Between Days Festival from getting there to all the little details once there. In addition to the two stages to fill you dog days of summer with live music there will be a retro arcade presented by Bit Bar Salem, local restaurant and food truck fare to fill your belly, and a market curated in partnership with Little City Thrifty Vintage Market and The Good Trade Makers Market . On site will be a sober-supportive sanctuary created in partnership with 1 Million Strong.

All ages are welcome to In Between Days with both VIP and general admission tickets. Gates are planned to be open at11:30 am and closed at approximately 9:45 pm. Times are subject to change, though, so please check the website closer to the days of the festival. Re-entry is allowed throughout the day and weekend but you will have to go through a security screening each time. Rain or shine, the show must go on, so plan for whatever weather is forecast and have a good time!

Getting There

There are several options for getting to the In Between Days Festival. You can bike (bring your own lock) to the on site bike parking, take the bus (it will stop at the stadium) or the Red Line, or hop in a ride share to get to the festival. There will also be parking but it is limited.

Who’s Who

Last year was an overall success with one request by attendees which was that there be a little more shade for those midday shows especially. This year, there is a new set up with a large shade tent that has views of both stages and easy viewing on the video screen as well. Each day of the festival features 12 bands on two different stages with no overlap so that fans can see bands perform without missing a literal beat.

Saturday’s Line-Up

Saturday will have the following bands performing: Modest Mouse, The Beths, Sunny Day Real Estate, Weakened Friends, Blitzen Trapper, Shallow Pools, Fantastic Cat, Dutch Tulips, Slothrust, Carissa Johnson, Paper Tigers, Gypsy Moths

Sundays Line-Up

The following bands will be performing on Sunday: Lord Huron, Phantogram, Trampled By Turtles, Iliterate Light, Cautious Clay, Miko Marks, Yoke Lore, Kat Wright, Allison Ponthier, Mint Green, Dwight & Nicole, Sweet Petunia

Orient Yourself

My approach to just about anything is to do a little research, make a plan, and then the actually day of the event leave room for things to come as they will. This habit allows the best of both worlds. You have a plan, but also room for whims and things to change. Take a look at the map before you go to have a sense of where things are and what you want to make time for.
