Boston Globe

Saturday’s main stage will be headlined by Vundabar, Palehound and Bay Faction. I had the pleasure of seeing Palehound twice recently. Once, opening for boygenius at MGM Fenway and once opening for Jason Isbell at the State Theatre in Portland, ME. They put on a great performance. Vundabar, a Boston-based trio, is known for their unique mix of genres including math-rock, surf, electronic, and indie rock. This unique sound has established Vundabar as a household name in the indie rock community, It is sure to be a great set. Bay Faction, who famously pulled their cult classic from all streaming services, and eventually brought it back. This three piece emo band will bring their new sounds to the stage.

NICE, a fest has become the marquee music event of the summer in the Boston area. Few (if any) festivals of this scale shine the light purely on their home city’s native talent, making it a comprehensive scene survey for the discerning live music fan as well as a crowning achievement for those playing.
