Roadrunner hosts its first full weekend festival. February 1st and 2nd music fans gather at Boston Landing’s Roadrunner for Something In The Way Fest; a weekend of music that will seep inside bodies and minds and undo some of the tension that has been twisting up inside us collectively since the beginning of January (if not longer). Headliners include: Slowdive, Balance and Composure, Soccer Mommy, American Football, and Mannequin Pussy.

For the Love of a Fest
I suspect most of Something In The Way Fest attendees were not even newborns when my teenage self and friends were quoting “you must chill“ from Say Anything. The lineup has a mix of chill and “belt it all out bands”, which is the perfect way to kick off a year of music.
What I love about a festival is that even those who come for one or two specific bands leave with new bands to love or vat very least pay attention to. Music lovers bought tickets for any number of bands regardless of where they are on the schedule. Not everyone is there for the headliner especially at a festival. Something In The Way Fest begins at 1:30 each afternoon and the last set starts at 9:00 pm.
