The Porches Inn: North Adams

By Leah Klein June 2, 2016 November 19, 2017 0

North Adams is an interesting little spot in Western MA.  We like to go there in the Fall for a little hike, a little art, and a little r & r.  We also love going there in the Winter for some outdoor winter swimming, some small beans family resort …

A Contemporary Element in a Historical Setting: Godfrey Hotel Preview

A Contemporary Element in a Historical Setting: Godfrey Hotel Preview

By Leah Klein January 25, 2016 November 19, 2017 4

Downtown Boston, is a funny sort of mosaic.  There is a lot of history in Boston, some of colonized America’s, oldest history in fact.  Boston is also a small city in the sense that everything is close by and it is easy to walk from one section to the other. …

Downtown at Boston's Hyatt Regency

Downtown at Boston's Hyatt Regency

By Leah Klein January 9, 2016 November 19, 2017 0

I have parked under the Hyatt Regency dozens of times without quite realizing that there was an elegant completely renovated hotel above me with a pool, the cutest little CEO (Cannine Executive Officer) Remi the Boston Terrier, and one of the most exquisite private dining rooms and patios I have …

Great Wolf Lodge: Family Adventure in New England

Great Wolf Lodge: Family Adventure in New England

By Leah Klein June 11, 2014 November 19, 2017 3

I have to admit that I’m more of the “cabin in the woods with bears” type of person, but my husband is more of a “Wolf in a costume, hotel room beds and amenities” kind of person.  I first heard about Great Wolf Lodge (GWL) when I was looking into …

By Leah Klein December 14, 2008 November 19, 2017 0

What does a family of New York (once or twice removed) Jews do when Chanukah falls right around Christmas?  We carve out some family time.  You can’t have a Chanukah party two weeks before Chanukah starts because waiting for the first night will be an eternity for the kids.  It …

This is linger over a glass of wine kind of weathe This is linger over a glass of wine kind of weather. Dan and I had a fab time doing just that last night at Spoke Wine Bar. Now I’m craving all the things: the cranberry fresno glazy saucy thing on the fried parsnip cake, the hint of bergamot in the aioli with the quince glazed sausage skewers, the fresh scallop crudo paired with rich AF beef cheeks, the somehow buttery soy sauce in the clams with persimmon, and the creamy tagine bean dip. I could go back again tonight and have it all again- and so much more of the menu that we didn’t try because we kept this meal dairy free for Dan.
