City Living

City living may mean traffic at your doorstep and “walk in” closets the size of a high school locker, but we put up with those little nothings because of everything else city living has to offer.  We have the world at our fingertips from cafés and restaurants to lectures and performances.  Boston and Cambridge have so much going on every day not only because they are cities but because they are university-filled cities.  We are lucky to live in such an amazing place and whether you’re stopping by for a weekend or you have been a lifelong resident, I’m keeping you in the loop.

Food & Drink

Whether you love to cook or live to dine out, I’ve got you covered.  I am at home in the kitchen but only because I have so many incredibly tasty options if I don’t have the time or desire to cook. Part of the joy of city living is having a myriad of great restaurants at my finger tips. My children are raised on food from our kitchen and from hole in the wall family operations to some of the country’s top chef’s kitchens.

Beyond the Basic Boo: Chocolate for Halloween

The basic ‘boo’ is what we had before Pinterest.  If you’re old like me, you might remember the plastic printed masks with the garbage bag printed costume.  Of course, those retro costumes would look pretty fab today as an ‘old school’ kind of thing.  Our family of course was a …

Fall Foliage In and Out of the City

Fall is one of my favourite times of year.  It always has been.  I don’t love the heat of a tireless summer sun but I love snuggling under a heavy wool sweater. In some ways I fear change but when it comes to the seasons that’s a whole different story. …

Norwell Farms Celebrates with Local Chefs

We have the city living lifestyle (hence @BostonCityLiving), but that doesn’t mean pounding the pavement, dining out on Newbury Street and hanging out at the local playground 24/7.  We love to escape the city for a little bit here and there.  The nice thing about the Boston area is that …
