Last night I had the pure pleasure of hearing Perfume Genius live at Arts at the Armory in Somerville. Musically I knew what to expect, but I didn’t know what stage presence, audience and personalities would be in the room and on stage. It was a very chill crowd that went perfectly with the music and space. I had moments listening when I was completely “lost in the sauce” as they say. I also found myself asking how someone can have such purity and flawlessness in their voice live. If you’re not familiar with Perfume Genius, you can read more about Mike Hadreas here. Continuing on our Monday series of what concerts are coming up at venues around town, we’re moving on to Fenway.
Red Sox season just started and there is something magical and “oh so very Boston” about Fenway on a warm spring or summer evening with the chaotic mix of ball park fans and the gamut of concert-goers and their theme-related garb pouring in and out of the venues off of Jersery St.

MGM Music Hall Fenway
The newest and, aside from Fenway Park itself, largest music venue shoulder-to-shoulder with the ballpark is MGM Music Hall Fenway. The venue holds just over 5,000 guests, has a great little patio known as the Truly Rooftop which looks out over the city, as well as a lounge and a distiller’s room for special events and guest upgrades.
Lewis Capaldi
Joy Crookes on April 18th and 19th 2026
Lewis Capaldi will serenade fans for two nights at MGM Fenway. This Scottish singer-songwriter’s falsetto will fill MGM Fenway with songs about love and all matters of the heart.
Raye
Absolutely, Amma on April 20th 2026
Raye has soul and spunk. She is a British singer-songwriter who hit the scene full force and recently hit the ground running in North America. Meanwhile in Britain, Raye claimed more prizes in a single night than have been won before at the 2024 Brit Awards. It is sure to be a fun, fab, night at MGM Fenway.
Lamb of God
Kublai Khan TX, Fit for an Autopsy, Sanguisugabogg on April 26th 2026
Metal at MGM Fenway has plenty of room for mosh pits of all shapes and sizes. Older fans can sit back relax and watch the mosh pit from above or join in the middle. It is the best of both worlds
I also have my eye on Charlie Puth coming in May (well actually I have tickets to that one already), flipturn, Tash Sultana, and Marcus King Band in June.

House of Blues, Boston
Across the street and up the road a little sits long time resident of Fenway: the Citizen’s House of Blues. House of Blues has plenty of charm and many different levels. There is stadium seating up high, a large floor down below and various mezzanine levels to perch and watch the show from above. You can find the full line up of shows here. The concerts I am most looking forward to are coming later this summer.

Symphony Hall
When you think of Boston Symphony Hall there are two categories of music that come to mind right away: the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops. In addition to these two musical giants, Symphony Hall hosts a speaker series and many guest performers. Here are just a few that caught my attention.
