Sarah McLachlan and Allison Russell: The Summer Hook Up You Need, Seriously

Let’s all admit it is more than a casual summer hook up. Sarah McLachlan fans (OG and the new generations) have a serious connection to the singer. We have cried our way through major heartbreak, picked ourselves up, leaned on her, and belted out “’Cause we are born innocent/ Believe me, Adia/We are still innocent/It’s easy, we all falter…”. The same is true for Allison Russell. These singer-songwriters both tap into the deep roots of their feelings and delve into what it is to be human. You can catch them together at Leader Bank Pavilion July 10th, 2026.

Canadian artists McLachlan and Russell are the perfect pairing for a night by the water at Leader Bank Pavilion. Allison Russell will open the night. Her soulful voice with an ever so slight rasp is one that I love and makes me feel a little more alive whenever I hear it. Russell’s new album ‘In The Hour of Chaos’ will be released that day, which makes the night of July 10th even more special. Allison Russell has a way if waking people up and getting them to tap into something greater and ‘In The Hour of Chaos’ is no exception. In fact, it teases out our desperate need (within the increasing turmoil in which we are entangled) to connect to one another in a less messy way or even at all.

We can’t deny that times are tough and we’re all a relative degree of broken right now. Sarah McLachlan and Allison Russell will make you feel a little more whole again. They each have their own way of tapping into our insecurities, fears, or worries, holding our hands through their songwriting and healing our hearts with their voices, They have a way of bringing warmth and light into our souls. Plus, this is Sarah McLachlan’s Better Broken Tour so we will be okay if not better…broken.

Should you be an old fan (as in have been on this earth a very long while and have enjoyed Sarah McLachlan’s music from the early days) then do yourself a favour and listen to the new album. Musicians are artists. They are not your playlist on repeat. Take the time to get to know more of their music before going to a show and you will have such a deeper more fulfilling experience. Pop in some headphones on the walk to work. Turn up the music while you have your evening shower. Ask your device to play Sarah McLaclan’s Better Broken album while you prep dinner.

If you have never been to Leader Bank Pavilion. It is not difficult to get to and it is a treat to be by the water on a summer’s evening. You can grab a drink and head over to the water; or you can sip and stare and take a few selfies as the sun sets. The venue is all seated and covered.

Leader Bank Pavilion is in Boston’s Seaport and is located at 290 Northern Ave Boston, MA 02210. You can park on the street or in nearby lots using your favourite parking app. The T is a great way to get there too just take the Red Line, Green, Orange, or Blue Line to the Silver Line.
