I don’t know why this is so, but I’m counting on Nest or Apple to help me move out of the dark ages with these horrific little ceiling slugs of a machine.

Oh gosh, that reminds me of the Friends episode with Phoebe and the smoke detector that wouldn’t die. Hilarious! I’ll never forget that episode. The hard part is determining which smoke detector is chirping….
We had one chirping for about a month or even longer in our family room with cathedral ceilings. Had to pay someone (craigslist, no less) to come with a HUGE ladder and change the battery. Scariest thing ever watching that random dude get it done.
Seriously, this happens way to often around here! Not fun at all!
LOL! Isn’t that the worst!
Yes. WHY at night?!? Always. Hope you get some sleep tonight!
In the middle of the night is when it is quietest. And doesn’t the chirp sound exponentially louder.
So true and I assume it’s just harder to notice in the day.

I think ours might have a back up battery, but it’s actually hardwired. I’ve been in a house where those things chirp…ahhhhh!
This is one of those things that EVERYONE can relate to! LOL
