I love having lunch at West Bridge. The first time I went, the restaurant was new and lunch was very quiet. It was nice to see that this time the restaurant was probably 1/2 full.
West Bridge has a beautiful rustic/industrial vibe (if that makes any sense – lots of nice wood and metal). It is very light inside with windows on both sides. The menu is small but everything is delicious.
The first day and this past lunch, I had the arctic char and kale salad which is one that I dream of often and makes my mouth water just thinking about it. It has a gorgeously balanced lemony dressing and crunchy hazelnuts. I also had the lamb dip sandwich which is delectable, unctuous, just a little spicy and only slightly less day-dream-worthy. The sandwich is served on Iggy’s onion ficelle and the flavours of the onions with the lamb and the gravy make a wonderful layered bite of salty, spicy, earthy, and sweet.
West Bridge is a great place to meet a friend for a work lunch or meeting, or a place to linger with friends.
